Attention seniors: Students making Magna Cum Laude (GPA 3.8 - 3.9) and Summa Cum Laude (4.0 +) are posted outside the Student Services doorway. See Mr. Stanbery should you have questions.

Wytheville Community College representatives will be at CCHS on May 1st to register future seniors who plan to attend WCC for fall/summer classes. They will be meeting in computer lab, room 245. Registration will begin at 8:45 am.

The William R. Harvey Leadership Institute will be holding a Leadership Summit from July 8th-July 13th 2018. It is a six-night accommodation on HU's campus with all meals, workshop materials and leadership training. There is a registration fee of $675 with a required deposit of $150. The registration deadline is May 4, 2018. For more information, please see Mrs. Brady in Student Services.

Any student interested in participating in a CCHS Athletic Training Student Aide Program see Mr. Stanbery. Student aides learn about the profession of athletic training/sports medicine, get practical healthcare experience, assist with daily athletic training responsibilities, and assist in the care of athletics during athletic practices and competitions.

The Society of Women Engineers at the University of Virginia invites high school sophomores, juniors and seniors to apply to our High School Visitation program on Saturday, April 21, 2018. The program gives young women a comprehensive look at engineering fields and UVA’s engineering curriculum through informative speakers and hands-on design activities. The program is designed to benefit participants with all levels of engineering experience, but we particularly target those students who are not yet familiar with the field and may be interested in applying to engineering schools or pursuing a STEM career. The Virginia Space Grant Consortium would like to share the following information about the following FREE NASA-related programs for Virginia's high school students interested in STEM.

For 11th and 12th grade students, Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars (VASTS) and Virginia Earth System Science Scholars (VESSS) programs are offered.

For 10th grade students, Virginia Space Coast Scholars (VSCS) program is offered. For additional information, please check your student g-mail accounts or see your grade level counselor.

Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership: Students who attend the High School Leaders Program live at the University of Virginia for two weeks in the summer and receive in-depth classroom instruction and hands-on training in practical politics at a college level. Students receive 3 University of Virginia college credits from their coursework.
